DETECTIVES in Selby have urged a witness to come forward following a burglary in the area.
Thieves broke into a house in West Haddlesey between 10am and 5pm on Thursday, July 3, and stole a large amount of money and jewellery.
North Yorkshire Police said some of the jewellery was returned with a note from someone who said they saw it thrown from a white van, and who signed the note “Bernie”.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Barnett, of Selby CID, said: “If you are Bernie, I ask you to come forward and contact the police straight away as you may vital information which could help to progress my enquiry. I am also asking anyone who can help to identify Bernie, or has any information about this burglary, to get in touch as soon as possible.”
