Man to face trial for assault
A MAN who is accused of assaulting a woman in Norton and damaging her property will face a trial.
John Preston, 22, of Garnet Place Leeds, pleaded not guilty on May 21, to assaulting a woman in Scarborough Road, Norton, on May 17.
Preston pleaded guilty to damaging a DVD, freeview box and a wardrobe door on the same day.
He was granted bailwith the condition that as long as he does not enter Norton, except while on a bus or train on a direct route to Scarborough, and not to contact prosecution witnesses. Preston will appear at Scarborough Magistrates Court on August 7, for trial.
