TWO friends who have written a sci-fi film script together are urging aspiring movie makers to get in touch with them.

Ian Wilson, of Amotherby and his friend Andrew Saltmer want to use their experience to writing short film scripts to help other aspiring script writers, producers and directors get in to the business.

Ian, who is a lover of horror films and even has a whole room in his house filled with horror movie memorabilia, said that any youngsters in the area looking to get some experience in the sector should get in touch.

He said: "We have written some quirky little horror stories and we would love to approach some youngsters to get involved.

"I don't know anything about the technical side of things but we can act as script advisors for them and they can help produce some of our shorter films."

Ian said that a script the pair wrote in 2010 is currently in talks to be made in to a film and said that he is excited about what the future holds for his work.

He said: "It's a very exciting time but the process on average is about five years. We would encourage youngsters who are interested in short films to get in touch with us especially if they want to get some of their scripts into some local film festivals."
