TWO-wheeled and four-legged displays stole the show as hundreds of people enjoyed the sun at this year’s Duncombe Park Country Fair.

The event, which has been running for more than 20 years, enjoyed a turn in the weather as sunny skies returned for Bank Holiday Monday, following several days of rain.

Highlights of the event including a demonstration from freestyle mountain bike stunt team Savage Skills as well as the Shadow Quest Dog Display Team which showcased the skills of police, service and protection dogs.

Alongside the regular horse events, trade stands, craft and farmers market, 2014’s fair featured a new attraction - the Doggie Grand National Races.

Fair organiser Nicola Ordidge said: “It has been another absolutely brilliant event. One of the best things has been seeing the sun shining on the beautiful park.

“We have had bike displays to celebrate the Tour de France, lots of dog shows, trade stands and crafts all in this absolutely stunning setting. It’s been fun for all the family.”

The fair, which was established in the grounds of Duncombe Park near Helmsley in 1982, also featured a Stokesley beagles display, terrier racing, mini-Grand National races, a display by Sinnington Foxhounds and a mounted fancy dress.
