TWO eggs laid by a pair of barn owls in Ryedale have hatched.
A clutch of six eggs were laid by the birds before Easter.
The have since been monitored via by Thixendale wildlife artist Robert Fuller.
According to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, the barn owl could disappear from the county altogether if the current rate of decline continues.
Robert is a founding member of the Wolds Barn Owl Group, which monitors barn owl populations and has been putting out additional food for two breeding pairs since before Christmas.
He said he was delighted and would be keeping a keen eye on them as they grow.
Footage of the eggs hatching is playing live at Robert's gallery in Thixendale, which is open every day from 11am to 4.30pm. Further videos can be found on Robert's YouTube channel.
