Herb garden created at Beck Isle Museum
Updated 11:19am Wednesday 30th April 2014 in News
Head gardener Cheryl Crick is working on a project to transform an area of land at the front of the attraction into a Victorian herb garden
Museum manager Rodge Dowson said they had been planning the project for some time and now due to a couple of local donations and sponsorship from the Co-op Foundation they were able to start work.
“We are now in the process of taking up the grass and laying out the paths so we can start planting the herbs,” he added.
“Our aim to have four areas to illustrate the different uses of herbs and we hope to have it complete before the summer.”
Rodge said the herb garden would tie in with a new project within the museum itself.
“We have a retired chemist who is coming in to talk to visitors about old remedies and herbs are going to feature in that,” he added.
