RYEDALE Show, recognised as one of the leading one-day agricultural shows in the country, is planning improvements for this year’s event.
General secretary Tom Watson told the annual meeting at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club that a new computerised database had been set up thanks to a 100 per centgrant from the National Lottery, which will enable a more efficient working system.
A new show plan is being created and new signs for surrounding roads and entrances have been made. As a result of the show’s success last year, the meeting it was agreed to increase the donations to local charities from £4,000 to £9,700. Mr Watson said that visitor facilities are being improved and a new website is being created to enable tickets to be bought online.
Officers elected for this year’s show are president Chris Tetley, of Brawby; chairman John Simpson, of Fadmoor, and vice-chairman William Curtis Jr of Keldholme.
