Ryedale police are appealing for information after a burglary and theft from an internet mast near Pickering.

It occurred at about 10am on Sunday, February 9, from a mast located close to Newton-upon-Rawcliffe, when equipment which provides broadband for the local area was taken.

As well as stealing the equipment valued at about £50, the burglars caused about £300 worth of damage at the site.

PC Melony Pitchford, of the Ryedale Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you saw any unusual vehicles ion the Newton-upon-Rawcliffe area around the time of the burglary, I ask that you get in touch with me as soon as possible as I believe you may have information that could help my inquiry.

“I also need to speak to anyone who may have been offered the stolen equipment and ask them to get in touch.”
